"The Park Song" was previously recorded with voice and guitar as the centerpiece of a June 2007 self-released cd, "Comfort In Knowing". Contained within this musical park are five tunes to be sung by different singers.
Additional instrumentation is arranged for two guitars, piano, percussion, violin, cello, horns, and accordion.
Actual performance time varies from 45 to 60 minutes.

1.   THE PARK SONG       (98MB),     1:04 min
This is the primary park song theme which plays before and after all of the other songs. Each time the theme is played, new variations and/or improvisations are added or expanded upon.

You can be what you want when you know who you are.

It drops me over rocks of abandonement, forsaken.
It picks me up, and carries me away, filled with amazement..

2.   WIND BLEW UP       (1.68MB),     1:47 min
This is the first area in the park. It's about answering to something inside maybe outside each of us that compels us realize and respond to our own unique innate possibilities.
The wind blew up, and brought him to the top of a mountain.
He could see forever.
Yeah, the wind blew up.
And the thought arose in soft morning light.

He knew, things was gonna change.

And walk away from the things that rob me of strength ...

3.   COWARDS       (0.9MB),     :58 min
We are all likely to be afraid of our deepest innermost thoughts and feelings - what our individual truths are.

This woman has come to terms with herself and her surroundings. She is joyfully comfortable in her own skin. If you know anyone like her, or are like her, this is a person at peace, at home with themselves and the world. Unbound, yet connected. People think she's nuts... which is not entirely improbable.

to save myself from a life of ruin.

This song summarizes how the people in the previous songs arrived at new understandings of themselves and the worlds they inhabit. They have one thing in common, what we all have in common, and what makes us unique as individuals and a species ... imagination.
